What is Pi Network?
Pi Network is a digital currency project designed to be mined (or earned) using mobile phones with minimal battery drain. It was created by a team of Stanford graduates and aims to be the world's most inclusive and accessible cryptocurrency.
Unlike Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that require expensive hardware and significant energy consumption, Pi can be mined on a smartphone through a simple app. The project uses a consensus algorithm based on the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) and incorporates a novel approach called "security circles" to prevent fraudulent transactions.
Pi Network launched in 2019 and has been growing its user base globally. The project is currently in its testing phase, with plans to transition to a fully decentralized blockchain in the future.
